Appointments

Consultations with Doctors and Practice Nurses are by appointment only. To make an appointment, please telephone the surgery on 01542 882244 or call in at reception. You may make an appointment to see any doctor or nurse. Our staff will make every effort to give you a convenient and early appointment. Please tell us if you have difficulty attending usual surgery times.

If you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. We will then be able to offer this appointment time to another person.

Urgent Appointments/ Triage

If you feel you need to see your doctor urgently ( same day), please make this clear to our staff. The staff will relay this information to a triage doctor who will return your call.The receptionist will be able to indicate approximately what time you will be called back.

The reception staff will request the following information:

1. Your contact details
2. Brief description of the problem

Home Visits

If you are unable to come to the surgery, the doctor may visit you at home if this is medically appropriate.

Patients who are housebound or too ill to come to the surgery should telephone before 10.30am to request a home visit. Please provide our staff with as much information as possible so the doctors can prioritise their visits.

Please remember it may not always be possible to see your usual doctor.

Test Results

Our reception staff may where appropriate give out test results from your doctor. Please phone the health centre between 2pm and 4pm.

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

Telephoning your Doctor

If you need to speak to your doctor and if the doctor is not available, the receptionist will take a message and ask him/her to return your call.

Telephone number withheld

We have increasing problems trying to contact patients who use a call-barring system to block calls from withheld numbers. For confidentiality, the health centre telephone number is withheld. If you use call-barring on your telephone line, we will be unable to contact you by telephone. If you wish to discuss this, please contact the Practice Manager.
